What You’ll Need to Make Beaded Curtains:

  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Eye hooks
  • Beads in different colors and shapes
  • String or thread
  • Clear nail polish
  • Curtain rod
  • Coordinated curtain rod brackets

What to Do:
1. Measure your doorway or windows to ensure that the curtain rod is the precise width. With the use of your pencil and ruler, divide the rod into even sections (depending on how many eye hooks you want to use) and make a mark at each point. Fasten the eye hooks at the marked points.

2. Cut the bead string or thread into pieces that are two inches longer than the length of your curtains. The normal curtain length is 75 inches, though you can alter this dimension if you want.

3. Secure a strong knot at the end of the string. Apply a drop of clear nail polish to the last part of the knot for extra support and anchoring.

4. Place the beads into your desired pattern. You can take advantage of curtain websites for pattern recommendations if you find it difficult to get started.

5. Once you stringed the beads, tie a loop in the top end right after the last bead. Don’t forget to leave about two to four inches of thread to provide a loop for hanging.

6. Install the eye hooks to the rod.

7. Append your finished bead strings to the eye hooks by creating a small loop at the crown of each strand.

8. Put the curtain rod onto the installed brackets.

9. Feed the hooks onto the rod. And there you have your beaded curtains!
